Welcome to Riverside School

Riverside School is a special school for approximately 184 pupils aged between 4 - 19 years in the London Borough of Bromley. Riverside, based in St Pauls Cray, opened in September 2007 following the merger of Rectory Paddock and Woodbrook schools. The school has a diverse pupil population; all pupils have severe or profound learning difficulties, and some also have Autistic Spectrum disorders.

In January 2010 we opened our new centre at Beckenham for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and are delighted at how well the pupils have settled into their new surroundings.

The school offers a safe, positive and challenging environment for its pupils. Its children and young people enjoy school and staff and parents have high expectations of them. We hope you enjoy the virtual tours of the school but the best way to learn about our work is to visit and talk to the staff and pupils.

We are proud of our partnership working with parents and other agencies and welcome visitors. We are continually developing our website and hope you will find it informative. We would welcome suggestions for other areas that should be included.

Headteacher

Thank you for a great day visiting your school for the Specialist school network meeting - for making us so welcome, sharing your good practice and a lovely lunch. Regards Rachel (Deputy at Linden Bridge School, Surrey)
