6th Form 1
The class is made up of 9 pupils all in year 12. In 6F1 the atmosphere is always lively with a great sense of humour. All students work very hard in a positive and stimulating classroom environment where everyone’s achievements are valued and recognised. Each week a different student is nominated as Star of the Week whether for their progress in a specific curriculum area or for kindness and cheerfulness!
The 6th Form curriculum is centred around practical and hands-on activities which include Daily Living Skills, Work and Community Based Learning as well as communication orientated sessions set in teenage contexts.
Some of our students attend local colleges where they work on developing a range of Daily Living, Creative and Independence skills.
All pupils work on the ASDAN Towards Independence Accreditation Scheme which is suited to all students’ abilities.
6F1 class cooperates closely with the same year group 6F2. Students from both classes meet regularly in ability groups for Literacy/Communication, Numeracy/Communication and PSHE.
Our outings are popular amongst the class members and we always look forward to a great day out. We often take trips as part of our Wood Lodge week and are able to plan these and evaluate how well they went afterwards.
