SEN Information

Governing bodies of maintained schools must publish information on their websites about how they meet the needs of all pupils with SEND.

Riverside School is an all age special school catering for the needs of a very wide range of pupils with SEND and all of our policies and curriculum information relate to meeting these complex individual needs.

All of the information about the pupils in our school, their needs and how we meet them, can be found in the documents below or on our website. Our website also contains a wide range of other information explaining our inclusive ethos and all the work we do to maximise the potential of all of our pupils.

Admissions – explains the needs of the pupils in our school and how places are allocated. 

Equal Opportunities policy - explains the different interventions and support and specialist equipment we give to all pupils in the school to ensure that they all have full access to all learning opportunities.

Parent Partnership – explains how we work in close partnership with parents to ensure that we meet the individual needs of all pupils as they move through transition stages.

Curriculum Framework –  identifies our curriculum and how we ensure our pupils receive the highest quality teaching and learning and smooth transitions between phases and that they leave us with memories of life-enriching experiences.

Ofsted Report  – offers judgement on the effectiveness of our provision.

Disability Equality Plan – part of our Equalities Statementwhich describes how all our pupils are included in all school activities.

Prospectus – describes our provision and the other agencies who work closely with us on site.

Complaints procedure outlines what families can do if they have any concerns or complaints about the provision in school.

Local offer – shows the offer by the local authority for all SEND pupils.
